However, there remains no consensus on the most suitable assisted reproduction method for couples affected by this condition.
If an adequate amount of sperm is successfully collected in the ejaculate, it undergoes washing and processing by the IVF laboratory, making it suitable for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).
This procedure, typically performed in the office by the woman’s reproductive endocrinologist, involves gently advancing a thin catheter through the cervical OS and injecting the sperm into the uterus at the time of ovulation. IUI necessitates no anesthesia and is akin to a pelvic examination and Pap smear in terms of discomfort.
